Tom Dixon will present to 100% Design 2008 his new collection of design, represented by Slab Chair, the chair of oak wood variant in black and natural and Mirror Ball in Stand, the robust and choreographic floor lamp 80 × 180 It consists of 6 spherical caps of different sizes of 50, 40 and 25 cm, mounted on an auction of chrome metal.

A collection characterized by a nostalgic design and essential, which makes the bench Slab Bench, the table Slab Dining Table Natural Oak, the table lamp Fluorine Shade and Table and the suspension Blow Light.

The project was obviously designed by Steven Holl: the use of inclined planes that intersect creating games solids and voids and textures pointing to smaterializzare surfaces are just two of the elements typical of his style unmistakable.

Indeed, Porosity Bench was built with wooden floors stuck with each other and the sitting is a real “sculptural work” for the way in which it exploits the volumes and the effects of light and shadows that are to form.

A project which, in my personal opinion, it seems more a mini architecture or a project carried out ad hoc only for exposure to Johnson Trading Gallery rather than a genuine product of industrial design…

The light and warmth of design D ° light Collection of Diana Lin Design Exhibitions, Events ,Accessories, Lighting

In the hope of being able to embrace the warmth and brightness of the Sun, Diana and Angela Lin Diana Lin Design have combined design, textile production and technology, to create products with which to establish a warm interaction. D ° light Huggable is a soft cushion who keeps inside 12 LED lights, protected by silicone bubbles that ensure the safe and gradual spread of light and heat.

Embracing the same philosophy, the collection D ° light is enriched with new design elements to illuminate and emotions, presented at the ICFF 2008 in New York. The new collection D ° light has implemented a range of design and materials used for 15 new coatings d ° light Huggable and to give shape and structure to the bubble lamp hanging from the ceiling d ° light and table desk d ° light, designed as a bunch of silicon spheres entertaining and suggestive.

All materials may touch, compress and assemble, customizing light, heat and design in our particular use and pleasure. The collection D ° light will attend the exhibition Design + Emotion presented to Badisches Landesmuseum Karlsuhe, Germany from August 3 to September 3, 2008.

For all the designers and planners seduced by the charm of a pencil that runs on paper, creating the world we would like, loyal to the faithful eraser always ready to offer new possibilities, the young Israeli designer Orit Marzel has achieved Pencil Case Rings on the occasion of ‘ HIT (Holon Institute of Technology) Next Exit Exhibition.

Produced in the department of industrial design of ‘the HIT of Tel Aviv, Pencil Case Rings plays on the contrast and the symbiosis between design such as expensive jewelry and materials poor. Two separate rings but with a world in common, that instead of stones and jewellery mountain a pencil and an eraser, materials cheap to pay tribute to two valuable tools to record or erase anything at any time, from display proudly geeky .
